The Swede, Jan Olofsson, born in 1944 is no typical photogrqpher.
His eventful life led him via Germany to Great Britain, where he was able to experience the" swinging London"of the sixties at close hand.

Being a club owner and music producer, he had the opportunity of meeting and making friends with all the greats of the rock and popscene, for example, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Sammy Davis Jr, Johnny Cash and Jimmy Hendrix. This gave his photos a very personal touch. His portraits show the musicians and their environment from quite a differnt perspective-not only the stage, but also backstage in surprising situations.
No other photographer could have captured the spirit of the sixties, especially in London, as impressively as Jan Olofsson did.
